Dallas Airmotive Asia Pacific RTC Completes First TFE731 Major Periodic Inspection

Dallas, Texas…June 17, 2013…Dallas Airmotive’s Regional Turbine Center (RTC) based at Singapore’s Seletar Airport has completed its first Major Periodic Inspection (MPI) on a Honeywell TFE731 engine. The Singapore RTC is the only such approved facility in the region. MPI is a major mid-point health examination of a TFE731 engine. The Singapore RTC’s first MPI engine is operated by a Thailand based company. A second TFE731 engine from this customer also due for MPI was received in mid-June.

“This first MPI is the culmination of a year’s effort to establish our Singapore facility in the region,” stated Dallas Airmotive President, Doug Meador. “Asia Pacific is a relatively new and high growth region for business aviation. We have committed the resources to service a growing base of customers now and for the long term. We are a customer focused company; being there when operators need us is our strength in servicing business aircraft operators.” Dallas Airmotive opened its Singapore facility in February 2012 and has performed numerous field service events in the region while developing the country authorizations required for performing shop related work in Singapore.  To date the RTC has received authorization from EASA, and country authorizations from CAAS/Singapore, CAAP/Philippines, DGCA/Indonesia, DCA/Thailand, CAAC/China and DCA/Malaysia. Authorization from India’s DCGA is in progress with approval pending.

“Singapore is a key location in Asia Pacific with growing scale and activity for Business and General Aviation,” commented David Best, President Asia Pacific, BBA Aviation. “The successful operation of Dallas Airmotive Asia Pacific in Singapore offers us further opportunity to serve our customers through the portfolio of BBA Aviation businesses established in this market including Signature Flight Support and Ontic." Field service engineers based in Singapore and Australia provide F1RST SUPPORT™ on-site service that includes engine troubleshooting, borescope inspections, carbon seal replacement, and LRU replacement.

In addition to approval for TFE731 Major Periodic Inspection, the Singapore facility is Honeywell approved for line maintenance on the HTF7000 and CFE738 engines, GTCP 36-100/150 APU and RE100/RE220 APU.
